Onix Partnerships

ONIX partners with brands, schools, and research institutions to advance hydrofoil performance, sustainability, and education.

North Action Group

ONIX Foils is proud to announce a strategic R&D partnership with North. Under this collaboration, ONIX provides advanced product design, research, and prototyping services focused on hydrofoils and associated technologies. Operating as an independent engineering partner, ONIX brings its deep expertise in hydrodynamics, materials development, and performance optimization to support North’s continued evolution in high-performance watersports equipment.

By combining North’s global brand strength with ONIX’s specialized foil engineering knowledge, the partnership accelerates the development of refined, efficient, and performance-driven hydrofoil systems.

Together, we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible — on the water and beyond.

Sotogrande International School

At ONIX Foils, innovation doesn’t stop at the water’s edge.

Through our partnership with Sotogrande International School, we bring the science of flight and hydrodynamics into the classroom — transforming real-world engineering into hands-on learning experiences.

Together, we empower students to explore design thinking, sustainability, and performance technology through workshops, research projects, and collaborative experimentation. By connecting elite foil engineering with education, we’re helping shape the next generation of creative problem-solvers — on and off the water.

UMONS & Recyclable Resin Research

Onix Hydrofoils is committed to building the most reliable, durable, and high-performance foils on the market — while leading the way in reducing ecological impact and carbon footprint.

Until now, we have used 3D printing, paulownia wood cores, and bioplastic-based molds. But we aim to go further. We are currently developing prototypes using CO₂-derived recyclable epoxy resins in collaboration with Dr. Guillem Seychal. His research enables mechanical and chemical recycling using CO₂ as a reagent — reducing environmental impact while improving material performance.

This work, supported by the European Commission under the NIPU-EJD project at UMONS and EHU universities, marks an important step toward recyclable and repairable hydrofoils.

Stay tuned as we continue to push sustainable composite engineering forward.

CNC Wood Production – Granada

Our pine wood cores and ash wood molds are CNC-machined in Granada, Andalucía — close to our Tarifa workshop.

Using wood instead of chemical foams reduces non-natural materials while maintaining strength and lightness. Small-batch, wood-based mold production allows for sustainable manufacturing with reduced environmental impact.

Local precision. Lower footprint.

White Label Production – Fool Moon

ONIX offers white-label production for brands seeking small-batch, high-performance foil manufacturing.

Using our proven designs and engineering expertise, partners can produce foils under their own brand identity — such as Fool Moon.

Flexible quantities. Proven performance. Professional execution.
